Fishing in the Kirovograd region
The Kirovograd region is located in the center of Ukraine between the Dnieper and the Southern Bug rivers. As in most of Ukraine, the temperate continental climate prevails here, and the forest-steppe forms a flat, slightly wavy relief. The highest point of the region is on the Dnieper Upland — a mark of 269 meters above sea level. Here is the geographical center of Ukraine (in the village Dobrovelichkovka).
All rivers of the region belong to the Dnieper and the Southern Bug basin. Especially noteworthy are Tenasmin, Cybulnik, Ingul, Sinyuha, Ingulets and Yatran. In total there are 438 rivers and streams in the region.
There are no natural and artificial lakes here, but in terms of the number of reservoirs, the Kirovograd region ranks third in Ukraine (85). The total number of ponds in the area of 2576 pieces.
The main characteristics of the region
Where to go fishing in the Kirovograd region?
The answer to this question is the Kremenchug Reservoir. On its banks there are a lot of fish farms and recreation centers, and the waters are full of fish. Pike, zander, perch, bream, crucian carp, roach and catfish are the main fishing objects in these parts. The maximum width of the tank is 28 km, so the fisherman will need a boat. Particularly famous among Ukrainian fishermen is the area around the village of Derevka.
In the southwestern part of the region, fishing on the picturesque river Yuzhny Bug is also recommended, as I recommend fishermen to pay attention to the rivers Sinyuha, Ingul and Ingulets.
For sport fishing in the Kirovograd region, go to the pond «Deryabino» in the village of Chevona-Veshka.
There are no salt ponds in the region, so it is sufficient to use standard fishing lines, hooks, fishing rods and drums. Currently, local fishermen usually use fishing rods, feeders and spinnings.
Do good …
And throw it into the water … I want to draw your attention to the fact that now the principle of «Catch – release» is very popular in Ukraine. This is promoted by the coolest sportsmen, bloggers and TV presenters. What’s the point of this? It’s very simple: fishing is a pleasure, and every participant of the process must get his portion. And the fish, including 🙂 So do not hesitate to let go of the fish.
I do not urge you to completely abandon the use of the fish that you caught. No! Fish soup and fried crucian, it’s very cool! I just encourage the fishermen to treat the fish with reverence.
And do not forget the catch quota! During the day you can get no more than 3 kg from the public pond. That’s enough!
